Will this look exactly like my slides?
No — this pulls out the text content of each slide (titles and bullet points) and lays it out as a simple document. Images, backgrounds, fonts and exact positioning aren’t reproduced, since there’s no way to render a real slide design in a browser tab without a much heavier engine.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No — nothing is ever uploaded. The .pptx is read and converted entirely inside this browser tab. There's no server involved at all, so there's nothing for Altto to see, copy or keep.
Does this work with the older .ppt format?
Not yet — only the modern .pptx format (PowerPoint 2007 and later) is supported. Save your file as .pptx from PowerPoint first if needed.
What if I need an exact visual copy of my deck?
Use PowerPoint's own "Export → Create PDF" or "Save As PDF" feature for a pixel-accurate export — this tool trades that for the ability to run entirely in your browser with no upload.
Can I convert a password-protected presentation?
No, encrypted PowerPoint files can't be read in the browser. Remove the password in PowerPoint first, then convert it here.
Do you keep a copy of my file?
