Rotate a PDF the right way up.

This free rotate PDF tool turns sideways or upside-down pages the right way round — pick a direction and every page rotates at once, without leaving your device.

Not uploaded — nobody sees it Rotate every page, or just one No watermark, ever No subscription or account
Your file is never uploaded — it’s processed right here in this browser tab, on your device. There’s no server involved, so we never see it, copy it or keep it.
How it works

Three steps, no waiting on a server

Altto's rotate tool works right in your browser tab, so there's no upload queue and no “processing your file” spinner tied to someone else's servers.

01

Add your PDF

Drop in the sideways or upside-down PDF you want to fix.

02

Pick a direction

Choose 90° left, 90° right, or a full 180° turn.

03

Save your PDF

Get back the same document, every page rotated and ready to read.

Why this runs in your browser, not on a server

A scanned document that came out sideways is often something you’d rather not hand to a stranger’s server just to fix its orientation. Altto skips that step completely — there’s no server for it to go to.

  • Nothing is uploaded, everEvery PDF is handled by code that runs in this browser tab, because there’s no server on the other end. That also means we can’t see it, copy it or keep it.
  • No account, no email wallRotate as many PDFs as you like without signing up or handing over an email address.
  • Only the orientation changesText, images and page content are copied through exactly as they were.

documents stored on our servers. There’s no server involved at all — the rotated PDF is built once, then everything happens locally.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The practical details on what this tool can and can’t do. Need to split it into pages afterwards? See our other tools.

Does this rotate every page, or just one?
You can do either. Use the quick "Rotate all" buttons to turn every page the same way in one click, or open the page preview and rotate individual pages if your PDF has a mix of orientations — no need for Split PDF first.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No — nothing is ever uploaded. The PDF is loaded and rotated entirely inside this browser tab. There's no server involved at all, so there's nothing for Altto to see, copy or keep.
Will rotating affect quality?
No. Only the page's orientation flag changes — the underlying text and images are untouched.
Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
Not directly — unlock it first with our Unlock PDF tool, then rotate it here.
Do you keep a copy of my document?
No. There's no upload, so there's nothing on our side to keep. See the Privacy Policy for details.
